Romain Gaschet’s bold world, steeped in 1990s American comics, met a game that also had a lot to say: pictograms, markers, counters. Some visuals had to be reworked to give them room to breathe and integrate the iconography better, without taking anything away from the illustrator’s personality.
Questions the project raised
- Where do symbols and counters go in very dense art, without getting in the way of play?
- How do you adapt some depictions for North America without erasing the illustrator’s personality?
