The Podcats

Context
Four video game characters leave their games to start a band. Each episode runs two sketches on one subject, then the Profcats explain its theme: the boss, GPS, buzz, ping… Aired on France 3 from February 2009, then on France 4 and France Ô.
What was at stake
Teaching without the teaching showing: the Profcats only step in after two sketches, once the child is already won over.
The work
Created, written and art-directed at Okidoki Studio, with Docks Dog Studio; animation by Mokko Studio in Montreal. Design of the official website and of web games combining broadcast and interactivity, among the first transmedia formats.
Results
1.2 million viewers for the first episode, a 20.4% audience share, 31.8% among 4 to 10 year-olds. Four international awards for the website, including the first Interactive Media Award ever given to a French team.
